In 2006 at 267.5 lbs, I had reached my heaviest weight to date. I was sore, uncomfortable and depressed all the time. At that point, I had decided to start out on my own to regain control of my life and would battle this war over the next 4 years.



Then in 2010, I swore to myself to run a half-marathon if I could reach a weight loss of 80 lbs. I met my goal and completed this challenge in 2:21:44. A few days after-wards, I had met Vic and discussed my recent accomplishment and was then invited to join the running group. I was instantly hooked and have never looked back. I have met and continue to meet so many wonderful people and have made friendships that have meant the world to me. I had also drastically decreased my half-marathon time to a PB of 1:39:31 and shed just over 100 lbs in total, just after a year of joining the group.


Shortly after-wards at the end of 2011, I injured myself in a race and never expected that 2012 would be the hardest year of my life with many setbacks and challenges to face. I could only manage a basic run of barely 4 miles, which took me over an hour to complete and would be in such agony after-wards that I eventually had to stop running altogether. Vic and the group remained positive and supportive even though it was apparent I was battling my old demons and gained back close to 40 lbs. Vic never left my side and now is working with me to help me accomplish the transformation that I have always envisioned.
